Fees for New Members

The ArcheryGB membership process was changed in time for the start of the 2010-2011 membership year and club secretaries should have received information from ArcheryGB during early July on how the new system will work. The KAA "Club Guide" was withdrawn because of these changes and a fully revised version should be available later this year, once the new system has settled down.

However it is apparent that there is some confusion about what clubs are required to do in relation to new members, so this temporary guide sets out the main points that clubs need to be aware of:

ArcheryGB (national) Membership Fees

New affiliations submitted on or after 01 January 2010 now attract a reduced membership fee for the current year, but membership will run only to the end of the current membership year (i.e. 30 September 2011); this pro-rating of the fee replaces the previous system whereby new members who joined on or after 01 May would receive membership for the remainder of the current year plus the next. This concession is not available to existing members who are late paying their membership fees.

Current membership fees are available from the ArcheryGB website, but the following are given for 2010-2011 for easy reference:

Joining date01 Oct - 31 Dec01 Jan - 31 Mar01 Apr - 30 Jun01 Jul - 30 Sep
Percentage payable100%75%50%25%
Club Member (Senior)£35.00£26.25£17.50£ 8.75
Club Member (Junior)£21.00£15.75£10.50£ 5.25

The following exceptions are covered by "en-bloc" club fees, so no individual membership fee is payable:

Membership TypeMembership FeeClub En-bloc Fee
Junior members of registered Junior ClubsN/a£50.00
Disabled members of registered Disabled ClubsN/a£0.00
Members of registered Schools ClubsN/a£50.00

Important Note: membership applications must be submitted for new members, even if there is no ArcheryGB fee to pay (e.g. new junior members of an existing Junior Club); if no membership application is submitted, the new member will not receive any membership benefits - including insurance cover.

All ArcheryGB membership fees must be sent direct to ArcheryGB with the corresponding membership application forms; they must not be sent via the County or Regional Treasurer.

The new ArcheryGB membership system requires that regional and county membership fees are dealt with separately from national membership fees, direct to the region and/or county associations.

SCAS (regional) Membership Fees

Because of the low level of membership fees charged by SCAS, they have decided to continue with the previous membership fee structure - all new members will pay the full fee in their first year, but those joining on or after 01 May will receive membership for the remainder of the current year plus the next. This concession is not available to existing members who are late paying their membership fees.

The following fees apply to the 2010-2011 membership year:

Membership TypeMembership FeeClub En-bloc Fee
Club Member (Senior)£1.50N/a
Club Member (Junior)£1.00N/a
Junior members of registered Junior ClubsN/at.b.c.
Disabled members of registered Disabled ClubsN/a£0.00
Members of registered Schools ClubsN/at.b.c.

Important Note: membership applications must be submitted for new archers, even if there is no regional fee to pay (e.g. new junior members of an existing Junior Club); if no membership application is submitted, the new archer may not be acknowledged and not receive any membership benefits.

All regional membership fees must be sent direct to the SCAS Treasurer with a copy of the corresponding ArcheryGB membership application forms; regional fees must not be sent via the County Treasurer or to ArcheryGB.

KAA (county) Membership Fees

For the same reason the KAA have also decided to continue with the previous membership fee structure - all new members will pay the full fee in their first year, but those joining on or after 01 May will receive membership for the remainder of the current year plus the next. This concession is not available to existing members who are late paying their membership fees.

The following fees apply to the 2010-2011 membership year:

Membership TypeMembership FeeClub En-bloc Fee
Club Member (Senior)£3.50N/a
Club Member (Junior)£2.50N/a
Junior members of registered Junior ClubsN/a£6.50
Disabled members of registered Disabled ClubsN/a£0.00
Members of registered Schools ClubsN/a£0.00

Important Note: membership applications must be submitted for new archers, even if there is no county fee to pay (e.g. new junior members of an existing Junior Club); if no membership application is submitted, the new archer may not be acknowledged and not receive any membership benefits.

All county membership fees must be sent direct to the KAA Treasurer with a copy of the corresponding ArcheryGB membership application forms; county fees must not be sent to the Regional Treasurer or to ArcheryGB.

Additional information about KAA Membership is available from the KAA Policy - Membership.

The KAA plans to issue a fully revised version of its "Club Guide - Affiliation and Membership Process" in time for next year's renewal period; we hope that by then any problems will have been ironed out of the new ArcheryGB membership system and that it will have had a chance to settle down.

If you have any queries relating to the membership process or fees, please contact the KAA Treasurer.
