The Records Booklets remain the official source of county records.
It is important to note that, for a number of technical reasons, this database and selection process cannot at present include rounds for which no record has been claimed - it is therefore not a complete substitute for the Records Booklets.
At present the database includes:
- all records that existed as at 31 December 2006 (when the new style Records Booklets were implemented) plus
- all records approved on or since 01 January 2007.
Earlier records might be added in the future, but existing documentation is not complete and transcription is a major undertaking, especially because of the changes made to junior age groups (both by ArcheryGB in 2011 and by the
KAA
in splitting up certain combined 'juniors of all ages' categories).
Try to avoid selecting very large numbers of records, as this could take a long time to process (especially on mobile devices) and might cause your browser to hang. It is particularly recommended that you do not select every record!
As a suggestion, try to keep selections within a single year or a combination of one discipline plus a bow-style or a gender. But whatever you choose, try to keep your selection to what you currently need, rather than select a lot 'just in case' - you can always make a different selection afterwards.
The basic default for this selection page is to include all records that have been approved and included in the database - even if they have been superseded; however, some options in the main navigation menu will pre-select new records approved during a particular year. In all cases the selection criteria displayed will show what records have been included.
You can then change the selection according to your need or curiosity, and the new criteria will then be applied to the whole database, not to the current selection. This means that you can go (for example) from examining Field Archery records to Clout Archery records without having to cancel the first selection, before starting on the second.
The selection criteria that you enter are not applied dynamically to the "Results" section below; when you have completed your selection, click on the "Submit Selection" button to apply it.
A second button allows you to remove all selection criteria, so that all available records are included in the results.
Note that each record is tested against each selection criterion in turn - a record is selected and shown in the results only if it passes every test.
* |
Indicates that this is the current record (this also applies to 'Closed' categories/rounds). |
M |
Indicates that this is the maximum score for the round - further claims are therefore not possible. |
C |
Indicates that this category/round is 'Closed', i.e. it is not available for new record claims. |
Greying out: indicates that further record claims are not possible, either because the category/round is 'Closed', or because the current record is for the maximum possible score; Greying out of the table caption and headings indicates that the entire category is no longer open for new claims.
By default all record tables are sorted in descending order of approval date, then by descending order of the date on which the record score was shot.
You can resort them into a more convenient order by clicking on a column heading; by doing so the content will be sorted into descending order, based on that column - click again and the sort order will be reversed.
Sorting by round will produce the order/reverse order in which they appear in the county records books.
Please note that if you sort on one column then on another, tied results on the last column sorted might not always retain their previous sort order.
